Family or partner violence refers to violence within the family or between intimate partners. It includes child maltreatment, dating and intimate partner violence (IPV), and elder maltreatment.
Community violence occurs between individuals who are not related and may or may not know each other. It can include bullying, assault, or violence involving acquaintances or strangers, and may occur in places like schools, workplaces, or neighborhoods.
