Your EAP is here to support you at every stage

The USPS Employee Assistance Program is a free, confidential benefit available to all postal employees & their families, beginning on the first day of employment.

What you can expect from your EAP

The EAP provides confidential counseling, support, and resources to help you address personal or work-related challenges.

The EAP is an independent service, separate from USPS, helping protect your privacy and confidentiality.

Truths and myths about the EAP

What the EAP is:

  • A free, voluntary workplace benefit that provides counseling, support and resources to postal employees.
  • Always available: We offer 24/7 phone support plus an online library of whole-health resources.
  • Accessible anywhere postal employees work, with counselors located across the country.
  • Confidential and private, protected by strict federal and state laws and by professional ethical standards.
  • Administered by Lucet Health, an independent provider that operates separately from the United States Postal Service.

What the EAP is NOT:

  • Long-term or ongoing clinical care, but short-term support designed to help you address immediate concerns and next steps.
  • A disciplinary or performance management tool; participation is voluntary and separate from job status or evaluations.
  • A place to file USPS complaints, but a resource to help you navigate concerns and find appropriate support.
  • Part of USPS human resources, but an independent service focused solely on your well-being and confidentiality.
